The first steps will be toward getting you more in touch with your body and increasing self-esteem. This will be achieved by learning the basic moves of belly dance that can be used in combination with the chakras. You will also be presented with information about the chakra system and how it can hold on to emotions in the body that stall our progress in moving forward. The movements of belly dance and the energetic system of the chakra will be combined with a small amount of talk therapy to assist clients to develop tools for uncovering emotional triggers that create unwanted behaviour patterns. With support and positive reflection, wounds can begin to heal. A new sense of balance and harmony can pave the way for a healthy lifestyle.
Different forms of expression may also be introduced to move beyond traditional talk therapy. Meditation, music, and of course belly dance will become part of the journey to self-discovery and tapping into personal power. The objective is the gift of a new and inspired self who is ready to achieve and sustain lifetime goals. Take the step that will make this year a whole new beginning.
At times, you will be asked to keep dancing through your emotions, to help you better understand them, but most importantly, to help you move through them and get comfortable with them. This can help you to learn not to hide your feelings and to learn how to express them in healthy ways without being overwhelmed by them.
Clients with previous belly dance and chakra experience can set-up one-to-ones with Jennifer. For those with no belly dance experience, a ten (10) week commitment is recommened.
